Skincare in Airplane Mode

Jacqueline Felker December 2019 @whattheFELK

I guess you could say my entire life changed this past January in the middle of an airport in South Korea. I was on my way to Hong Kong, and had a 6 hour layover in Seoul. Almost everything in the airport was closed and I was in a post 14 hour flight haze, and that’s when I remembered that I had packed a face mask for this exact moment. I sat in the middle of the airport, sprawled out, applied the mask and made the airport my own personal paradise.

We put our skin through so much while traveling, and with the upcoming holidays, travel is pretty much unavoidable. We sit on planes, trains and automobiles filled with recycled air and low humidity that somehow simultaneously dries our skin, makes us oily, and leaves us feeling all around gross. The easiest way to battle the downsides of traveling is to set yourself up for success. Remember in The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez has a waistband that literally has everything you could ever need? That is how we should all be packing our personal items while traveling! Reusable water bottle? Check. Moisturizer? Check. Overnight Mask? Check. Snacks? DUH. Everytime I pack I feel like J. Lo in The Wedding Planner and I don’t know if you’ve ever seen J. Lo’s skin, but we should all constantly try to feel like her.

Whether you’re heading to a warm or cold destination, keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized while traveling is key. It will also save you from having to rescue your skin when you’re back home. Traveling isn’t an excuse to completely abandon routines and self-care! When shopping, look for hydrating ingredients like aloe, manuka honey, calendula, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil, glycerin and squalane. These ingredients are super hydrating and clean and can all be found in Romer Skincare’s 3-step regimen, not to mention we describe the benefits of each of these ingredients. Romer makes it easy to take care of your skin while on the road, so why not roam with Romer!
